In December 2019 we connected our client’s VHF radio to his chart plotter to enable the DSC feature. The radio is now able to send latitude and longitude information to the Coast Guard at the touch of a button. 

In June 2020 we are happy to be helping a family prepare their Vanderstadt 17 for the sailing season.  Some of the work includes:

• Reapplication of bottom paint and boot stripe,
• Deck and mast hardware maintenance,
• Centerboard system maintenance,
• Sail maintenance - relaxing the mainsail's luffrope,
• And running light wiring repairs.

Lots of fun to be had aboard a Pearson 30 we are preparing for a third life sailing.  The owners have asked us to :

• Replace the halyards,
• Remove the traveler for more room in the cockpit,
• Service and replace winches as needed,
• Provide encouragement and applause as required (none necessary!!)

Our client bought his Hunter 30 after it took a well-deserved three-year rest on land.  We've serviced the diesel engine, replaced cockpit hoses, and removed and re-bedded the two deck hatches.  Yet to do:

• Replace four portlights, 
• Replace the halyards and other running rigging,
• Assess and renew sails and sail handling systems,
• Upgrade electrical components and instruments, including chartplotter, imaging depth sounder, and AIS,
• Replace and/or service winches,
• Customize the boat handling gear for ease and accessibility.

This boat has been well loved for forty years and just needed some attention to pieces and parts.  We performed Yanmar diesel service including fluid replacement, and new exhaust hose.  We also did some automatic bilge pump cleaning and rewiring.  Coming up for the spring will be:

• Troubleshoot the oil pressure, temperature, and battery charging warning system,
• Stuffing box service,
• Anti-corrosion zinc replacement,
• Replace mainsail halyard,
• Install an anchor light (at masthead).

Here is a solar trickle-charge installation aboard our 1974 Paceship Chance 29/25 using second hand components.  This installation is providing plenty of power to keep the batteries healthy through the winter.
