My name is Art Holt. In my youth I sailed dinghies and taught juniors while driving Boston Whaler runabouts at Severn Sailing Association. I also raced sailboats with my family and friends, then boats of my own. After some education, I geodetic engineered for 33 years at Naval Research Laboratory, doing work closely related to GPS and AIS. Then I decided to move into the next phase of Being the Life I Wanted to Live.
I retired from the Lab and started working at Annapolis Sailing School, tutoring kids, and getting smarter about all things related to being useful in the boating industry. I'm greatly indebted to many great people, not only those who taught me to sail as a kid but also those who taught me to be a good engineer, boat repair technician, and sailing instructor.
I'm most grateful to my wife who has been consistently supportive to me about this phase of my life and what I want to do with this new initiative in the boating industry. I've got a dream to make a living making people happy -- happy with whatever their reality is. I'm probably best at helping people with being on the water, so that's what I'm focusing most of my attention to.
How may I be of service? Send us a paragraph about what your dream looks like for you. Maybe we can do some things to help you make that Dream a Reality.
